Well I do wonder if we will see how the kid views his consequence of being expelled on day one!!
I do so hope that all the ones who got expelled will LEARN that every action has a consequence. |

i did think he was asking for it though. i think his name was Dale.
I mean ye. He was told once, he was told twice and it was the third time he was out and he didn't show regret. So he did have it coming. Although it was a shame because he looked like he might've enjoyed it _________________ The Beagle Boysz 2005! |

I don't know what her name was, but I could not understand the girl who sat and argued about not enough 'chances' given to offenders. It would have been unheard of in our days at school to argue with any of the teachers let alone the headmaster/mistress.
The lesson being taught to the offenders when they were dismissed from the project should have been observed by all of the class and taken as a warning that the same could happen to them should they step out of line. |

There's a vast difference in teaching methods then and now, perhaps because in the past there was more discipline on the home front and teachers acted in much the same way as a parent would, by disciplining the kids immediately?
Now though, because of the 'softly-softly' approach some parents seem to have adopted, it must make it much harder for the teachers to deal with. For instance; making an example of a pupil in front of their peers, is an absolute no-no today, because it can be seen as bullying by the other pupils (if not then certainly by some parents), but also the pupils would lose respect for the teachers and they need that respect to teach effectively. Expelling a pupil shows the other pupils that they have to accept responsibility and the consequences of their own behaviour. That's a good thing, but opens up a whole new can of worms where the expelled pupil is concerned, what about him/her, does he/she just become another statistic? |

Is it because parents and school staff lack effective consequences that is the problem?
It seems to me that for expellation to be effective the child has to want to be in school in the first place.
Maybe the idea everyone should get lots of GCSE's etc is wrong from this point of view. That failure by a larger majority would teach that lesson? |

I think so and kids spend longer at school than they do at homeso maybe, if teachers had less restrictions on punishment, rather than the other way round, it would be a whole different ball game? |

If you watched last night it did show that punishments are not the complete answer ,
Yes so about 9 out of 15 completed the full 2 camps ... but the other 6 are still no better off from the start of the series it seems!
Still there is a week to go maybe we will see what the lost six got from it next programme. |

| I am looking forward to seeing the pupils acting as teachers and wondering whether they will behave better towards their own teachers and at the same time, respect what those teachers are having to put up with whilst trying to teach. |

Yep it's a great idea I wonder if there will be rebels in the camp tho? I suppose if they introduce lots of things like that, they should get to all the kids eventually. |

The teaching went well and the whole experiment seemed worthwhile.
However I do not think they have found a successful formula yet. |

you know what the successful formula to teaching is? teaching! the main point is to get the kids interested and getting them to learn. its much easier with primary school but as they get older, it becomes much harder. so perhaps it should be what they do at the start that helps them.
anyway, i'm no teacher so i know squat. lol
gr8 show like. i wonder what's replaceing it next week? _________________ The Beagle Boysz 2005! |
